Highlighting Economic Barriers Faced by Women & Girls in the our Region
I Hear You. I Am You. A St. Louis Region Listening Tour: To better understand the barriers in achieving economic independence, the Women’s Foundation of Greater St. Louis conducted a listening tour in Spring 2017. Through this initiative we identified five complex and interwoven barriers that impede women from achieving economic security in the St. Louis Region:
– Safe and affordable childcare for women with young children
– Mental health support for sexual trauma survivors
– Safe, affordable and discrimination-free housing for women and their families
– Accessible and reliable transportation for women
– Education, training and employment pathways for all women
